would like to thank all who attended

Prince Ruperts 1st Youth Skills Fair!!

The North Coast Youth Career Awareness Project (NCYCAP) is an initiative of the Community Futures Office of the Pacific Northwest Region and we are generously funded by Service Canada. Our team consists of three energetic women who are interested in encouraging youth to take advantage of job opportunities in our region. One of our project's main objectives is to highlight to potential employers and community members the current skills Prince Rupert youth have.

Which was on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, our team is organizing a Youth Skills Fair at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre from 1-4PM. This is a fair that celebrated the spirit of our youth. Young people from 16 to their mid-20's will have a chance to practice their skills and employers and community members will have the opportunity to network with young people. Youth had an opportunity to identify and share what they are passionate about with others. There were professionals representing the diversity of employment in the Northwest Region.

There was music featuring a live, local band called, Huddlestone at 3PM.

This event was a good success and we will be having updates from the staff of the North Coast Youth Career Services Program shortly, keep tuned in to our website....
